about me

James is a fashion and portrait photographer based in London His photographic style grew organically from his education in film cameras and video production that he acquired during the last 14 years he spent living abroad. It is often possible to see aspects of film noir and old cinematography in his images, mixed with a more modern twist. He thrives on making completely unique images without using compositing or heavy retouching, favouring instead to create the images in camera using his lighting knowledge and studio craft.

James has spent the best part of his life experimenting with cameras and in the last 4 years has worked with, and continues to work with, international brands such as Hasselblad and been repeatedly published in fashion magazines such as Dreamingless Magazine, Vintage Life, Creative Talent, Creative Portrait, Brixx, and others.

Specialising in fashion and portraiture plays to James’ strengths in lighting and perfectionism. His photography can be described as striking, intense, edgy, and dramatic, and he uses these traits to bring a narrative to the images.

Professional portrait and fashion photography with an alternative, vintage twist. The use of lighting and little editing creates moody, realistic photographs that capture natural beauty and emotion. This makes the work stand out and draws the viewer in..
